Where in Omaha Official Rules

CONTEST begins at 12:01 am (CDT) on Sunday, March 9, 2008, AND ends at 6:00 pm (CDT) on Saturday, May 10, 2008. All entries, whether electronic or mail-in, must be received by Saturday, May 10, 2008 at 6pm CDT.

ELIGIBILITY: You must be a US citizen, age 18 years of age or older to enter. Project Jason board members, volunteers, project photographers, and their immediate family or other household members are not eligible to enter. Only one entry per person. Each entry must be accompanied by the $10.00 dollar contest entry fee.

HOW TO ENTER: You may enter by US Mail or online. To enter by US Mail, simply print and fill out the entry form. Mail the entry form, along with your check or money order for $10.00 to:

Project Jason
Where In Omaha
PO Box 3035
Omaha, NE 68103

To enter online, you must have a valid email address. Once we receive your online registration form, we will send you a PayPal invoice via email to submit your $10 registration fee. You may send an email to info@whereinomaha.com to ensure that your entry and $10 payment have been received.

QUALIFIED GUESSES: When filling in the section of the entry form next to each photo, you may enter a combination of the following information:

  • Proper name of building or place
  • Street intersection
  • Exact physical street address.

Each qualified guess must have either the exact physical address, or the street intersection.

Example:

Proper name of building or place: Swanson Public Library
Street intersection: Southwest Corner of 90th and Dodge
Exact physical address: 9101 W Dodge RD

All photos were taken within the city limits of Omaha, NE, and items in photos can be accessed by the public without fees.

It is not required that you make a guess for each photo. The entry with the most correct guesses wins, regardless of how many locations were left blank. Remember, you must either list the intersection or the street address to be counted as a valid guess on each photo.

TAX DEDUCTIBLE STATUS OF ENTRY FEE: The $10.00 entry fee does not carry tax deductible status as a charitable contribution per US and state law. Entrants may add on additional dollar amounts to their $10.00 entry fee and then qualify for tax deductible status on any dollar amount added above the $10.00 entry fee. Project Jason is a 501 c 3 nonprofit organization and is dependent on the public to support their mission. Any extra dollar amounts added to the $10.00 fee are appreciated and will be acknowledged via letter so that you may deduct that amount as a charitable contribution on your 2008 federal income tax.

PRIZE: One (1) Grand Prize: US $500.00. The prize will be awarded (assuming a minimum of fifty (50) eligible entries). No substitution or transfer of prize permitted. Taxes and fees, if any, are the sole responsibility of prize winner(s). If the minimum number of entries (50) are not received, the $10 entry fee becomes a tax deductible donation unless the entrant notes on the entry form that he/she would like it returned via regular US Mail. This donation will be used to help pay for the cost of the bus benches.

GENERAL: Void where prohibited or restricted by law and subject to all applicable federal, state, local and municipal laws and regulations. In order to enter the Contest, you must agree to these Official Rules (“Rules”). Therefore, please read these Rules prior to entry to ensure you understand and agree. You agree that submission of an Entry in the Contest constitutes agreement to these Rules. You may not submit an entry to the Contest and are not eligible to receive the prize described in these Rules unless you agree to these Rules. These Rules form a binding legal agreement between you and Project Jason with respect to the Contest.

Project Jason is not responsible for lost, misdirected, late, damaged, postage due, or illegible entries. Project Jason is also not responsible for any printing, production, technical, electronic or other errors; or for lost, interrupted or unavailable network, server or other connections; failed computer hardware or software transmissions; technical failures; unauthorized human intervention; garbled or jumbled transmissions; or other errors of any kind, whether due to electronic, mechanical or human error or other causes.

Project Jason reserves the right to withdraw or terminate this contest at any time without prior notice.

SELECTION OF WINNER(S): Each entry will be reviewed by a team of Project Jason board members or other volunteers who are not also contest participants. The entry with the most correct answers of the location of the numbered contest photos is the winner. If there is more than one entry with the same number of correct answers, then the winner will be determined by the most correct answers given for the 4 tie-breaker photos. If there are still multiple persons with the same number of correct answers for the 5 tie-breaker photos, then those entrants will split the $500.00 Grand Prize evenly. The decision of Project Jason in this matter is final and binding.

VERIFICATION OF WINNER AND DELIVERY OF PRIZE: By claiming the prize, the winner(s) authorizes the use, without additional compensation of his or her name and/or likeness and/or voice/photograph and municipality of residence for promotion and/or advertising purposes in any manner and in any medium (including without limitation, radio broadcasts, newspapers and other publications and in television or film releases, slides, videotape, distribution over the internet and picture date storage) which Project Jason may deem appropriate.

In accepting the prize, the winner(s) acknowledges that Project Jason may not be held liable for any loss, damages or injury associated with accepting or using this prize. The winner(s) will receive a 1099-MISC form for use when completing their 2008 income taxes. Taxes are the responsibility of the winner(s).

The Winner(s) will be announced at the Project Jason booth at the National Missing Children’s Day event, location and time TBA. This will take place on Friday, May 23, 2008. If the winner(s) cannot be present, their winnings will be sent to them via registered US mail. The winner(s) will be notified by telephone and email prior to this event.
